Christmas traditions:

Steven and I decorated our Christmas tree last week...and then undecorated the bottom half of it this week after our dog, Frampton, ate several ornaments, hook and all!!!

As we were decorating, Steven made an interesting point. He said, "This is a really weird tradition don't you think?" At first I didn't agree but, after giving it more thought, I changed my mind. I mean think about someone in another country learning about how people celebrate Christmas...

Step #1: Buy a tree that has been chopped down
Step #2: Set it up in the most widely trafficked room in your home for all to see
Step #3: Give it water so it stays "alive"
Step #4: Put shiny lights, ornaments, tinsil, popcorn and all sorts of decor all over it
Step #5: After January 1st, throw it to the curb and clean up the mess it made in your home.

Kinda weird when you put it that way huh?

Amanda :-)

Not sure if you guys have heard of Jim Gaffigan. He’s hilarious. You should youtube him and look up his holiday traditions bit. It’s great.

No. 40 – “It Could Be Me” Official Music Video

Notes: One person really can make a difference. In August 2011, the band 1000 Generations released this video for their song “It Could Be Me” (from their critically acclaimed EP “Wrecked For the Ordinary”). Both the song and video are born from the belief in the power of simply doing something.
